After moving to Arizona and meeting some wonderful artists, I wanted to paint my interpretation of the extraordinary Southwestern antiquities and treasures in watercolors. I was, and still am, truly amazed that collectors enjoy my art and want to display in their homes. There is no nicer compliment.

I love the concept with this one, especially love those darks in the shadow areas behind the forelegs and want to see more of those on the rear legs. The only bothersome part of the painting, to me, is the bullseye that is the right eye on the bison. That might be toned down a bit, but that may just be my preference. I like these colors a lot, they may not be realistic but they show that colors don't have to be realistic to be interesting and provocative in a painting.
